At least 10 police personnel killed in attack on police station in Pakistan
Ten cops were martyred while six were injured in a late-night attack on the Chodwan police station in Dera Ismail Khan on Monday, police said.
The attack comes three days before the general elections are scheduled to take place on February 8 (Thursday).
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Nasir Mehmood confirmed the casualties to Dawn.com.
There have been several attacks in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces in the last few days. As a result, there are security concerns before the election.
Pakistan's Election Commission (ECP) and security authorities reviewed the law and order situation across the country last week ahead of the elections. Voting will be held as scheduled on Thursday, it said in a statement.
