At least 50 people have been killed in fresh US strikes on Iran that began after June 27. More than 500 others have been injured in these attacks. The Iranian Ministry of Health confirmed the information in a post on social media platform X on Saturday (July 18).

Hossein Kermanpour, head of the ministry's Public Relations and Information Centre, said among those killed in the US strikes were five women and two children under the age of 18. He also said the injured include 32 women and 18 children and adolescents.

Tensions between the US and Iran in the Middle East have escalated significantly in recent weeks. Both countries have been carrying out attacks and counter-attacks on each other's strategic installations.

A memorandum of understanding was signed in June this year with Pakistan's mediation to end the war between the US and Iran and establish lasting peace. Despite that, military conflicts have continued across the region.

In response to the US strikes, Iran's military forces have carried out missile and drone attacks on US allies Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain and Oman in the Middle East for the seventh consecutive day on Saturday. Extensive damage to oil and gas installations in these countries has been reported from the Iranian attacks.

Analysts believe that the security situation in the Middle East has become more complex due to the Iran-US conflict.
