Three officers of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) were injured by brickbats in Chankharpool area of ​​the capital during the nationwide blockade called by BNP. This incident took place on Tuesday (October 31) around 2 pm. Later, three of them were taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. They are currently undergoing treatment there. The injured are - Officer-in-Charge (OC/Investigation) Abdul Halim (38), OC (Operations) Zakir Hossain (41) and Sub-Inspector (SI) Shubhankar Roy (39) of Chawkbazar Police Station. All of them suffered injuries on the face and different parts of the body. Injured OC Abdul Halim said the police were attacked with bricks and sticks from a procession carrying the BNP flag. Three policemen were injured in the attack.

বিএনপির ডাকা সারা দেশে অবরোধ কর্মসূচি চলাকালে রাজধানীর চাঁনখারপুল এলাকায় ইটপাটকেলের আঘাতে ঢাকা মহানগর পুলিশের (ডিএমপি) তিন কর্মকর্তা আহত হয়েছেন। মঙ্গলবার (৩১ অক্টোবর) দুপুর ২টার দিকে এ ঘটনা ঘটে। পরে আহত অবস্থায় তাদের তিনজনকে ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ (ঢামেক) হাসপাতালের জরুরি বিভাগে নেওয়া হয়। বর্তমানে তারা সেখানেই চিকিৎসাধীন। আহতরা হলেন- চকবাজার থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি/তদন্ত) আব্দুল হালিম (৩৮), ওসি (অপারেশনস) জাকির হোসেন (৪১) ও পুলিশের উপ-পরিদর্শক (এসআই) শুভঙ্কর রায় (৩৯)। তারা সবাই মুখে ও শরীরের বিভিন্ন অংশে আঘাতপ্রাপ্ত হয়েছেন। আহত ওসি আব্দুল হালিম জানান, বিএনপির পতাকা হাতে একটি মিছিল থেকে ইটপাটকেল ও লাঠি নিয়ে পুলিশের ওপর অতর্কিত হামলা চালানো হয়। হামলায় তিনজন আহত হয়েছেন।
