Bangladeshi actress Mehazabien Chowdhury’s film 'Saba' began its international journey at the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada. Since then, the film has been featured at several international festivals including Busan, Red Sea, Gothenburg, Osaka, and Dallas. However, this year’s Raindance International Film Festival holds special significance for Mehazabien—not only is she participating, but she has also been nominated in the Best Actress category.
The popular reality show 'Lux Superstar', which has introduced many well-known faces to Bangladesh's entertainment industry, is making a comeback after seven years. Stars like Zakia Bari Momo, Azmeri Haque Badhon, Bidya Sinha Mim, and Mehazabien Chowdhury all started their careers through this platform. Now, the search for a new star begins again with the return of this iconic show.
As in every year, the most prestigious event in world cinema is being held in the southern French coastal city of Cannes — the Cannes Film Festival. The curtain rises on the 78th edition of the festival today, May 13, at 7:15pm local time (11:15pm Bangladesh time). A grand opening ceremony will take place at the 'Palais des Festivals' in Cannes, where filmmakers, producers, and actors from around the world will be present.
As in previous years, the business wing of the Cannes Film Festival, Marché du Film, is set to return with a variety of events. At the 78th edition of the festival, renowned Bangladeshi writer, film critic, and director Ebadur Rahman will present his film Bangali Bilash.
