Awami League central office set on fire
The central office of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations located on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital has been set on fire.
The incident took place on Thursday (November 13) afternoon.
A video circulating on social media showed some people gathering there to observe a sit-in programme. Many were also seen breaking the graffiti of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the wall of the office.
When the Hasina government fell on August 5 last year, angry students and the public vandalized and set fire to the Awami League central office.
After the building was abandoned for a few days, the forces supporting the July Uprising established the 'International Fascism and Genocide Research Institute' there.
