Ballots from over 21,000 expatriate voters received

Ballots from 21,508 registered expatriate voters have arrived in Bangladesh ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election and referendum.

Saleem Ahmed Khan, the team leader of the 'OCV-SDI' project for expatriate voter registration, provided the information to BSS on Tuesday, January 27.

He stated that, as of 10:30 am on January 27, ballots had been delivered to the respective countries of a total of 766,862 expatriates registered via the Postal Vote BD mobile app. Of these, 493,920 voters have received their ballots, and 425,788 have already cast their votes.

Saleem Ahmed Khan further detailed that among those who have voted, 370,322 expatriates submitted their ballots at local post offices or mailboxes in their host countries. Meanwhile, the ballots from 21,508 voters have been received in Bangladesh.

He added that a total of 1,533,683 voters, both domestic and expatriate, have registered to vote via the Postal Vote BD app for the upcoming election and referendum.
