‘Banalata Sen’ to be released in five theaters in Australia
The much-talked-about Bengali movie ‘Banalata Sen’ is going to be released in Australia. The producer has said that the movie will be screened in five theaters in the country.
The movie’s director Masud Hasan Ujjwal said that the initiative to release it in Australia has been taken due to the love of the domestic audience and the interest of the international audience. He said, “The way ‘Banalata Sen’ has been loved by the audience in the country has inspired us. There have been requests for its release from Bengali speakers living in Australia for a long time. The movie is being released in five cities based on that demand.”
He also said that the list of halls and exhibition schedule in Australia will be announced soon. He also said that there are plans to release the movie in several other countries in the Western world.
This movie is based on the life, literary work and his timeless poem ‘Banalata Sen’ of poet Jibanananda Das. It is a government-funded film in the 2021-22 fiscal year.
The film, which was released in theaters nationwide on Eid-ul-Azha, is currently being screened in various theaters. The makers hope that the film will reach more audiences through its international release.
Masuma Rahman Nabila plays the role of 'Banolata Sen' in the film, and Khairul Bashar plays the role of poet Jibanananda Das.
Gazi Raqayet, Sohel Mondal, Naziba Bashar, Priyanti Urbi, Ruponti Akid, Sharif Siraj and many others have played other important roles.
