Bangladesh got off to a flying start in their first match of the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers, securing a 3-1 victory over hosts Laos at the New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane.

From the very beginning, Bangladesh put the opponents under pressure and created two clear scoring opportunities within the first 20 minutes but failed to convert them. The breakthrough finally came in the 36th minute when Mosammat Sagarika found the back of the net with a header from a Shanti Mardi corner.

The lead was doubled in the 58th minute of the second half, thanks to a goal from Munni Akter. Although Laos mounted some pressure afterwards, Bangladesh’s defense remained solid. Laos managed to pull one goal back late in the game, but Sagarika struck again to seal the 3-1 win for the girls in red and green.
