Bangladesh pulled off a remarkable win against India at the ongoing Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship being held in Kulhudhuffushi city, Maldives. Despite losing the first set 16-28, Bangladesh rallied to win the second set 19-10, forcing the match into a tiebreaker. The Bangladeshi team then dominated the tiebreaker 7-3 to secure a 2-1 victory.

Beach handball matches are played over two 10-minute sets, with the winner of each set decided by goals scored. If both teams win one set each, the game proceeds to a tiebreaker. A team must win both sets to claim an outright victory.

This victory comes on the heels of Bangladesh’s 2-0 win over South Africa the previous night. Khokon Molla, who was instrumental in both matches, was named the Player of the Match against India for his exceptional performance.

The Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship features six teams competing in a league format: Sri Lanka, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and hosts Maldives.

Before traveling to the Maldives, the Bangladesh team trained extensively on sand courts at Paltan Maidan in Dhaka. The preparation has shown positive results in their performance, with two impressive wins so far in the tournament.
