Bangladesh clinch title again, Sagarika scores 4 goals against Nepal
Bangladesh has retained the SAFF U-20 Women's Championship title by defeating Nepal 4-0. All four goals were scored by 17-year-old forward Sagarika. This marks Bangladesh's fifth title in the regional competition.
Unlike previous years, there was no final in this edition of the SAFF Championship. The team with the most points after a double round-robin league format would be crowned champions. Therefore, today's match became the de facto final, where Bangladesh won with a maximum of 18 points, defeating Nepal, who earned 12 points.
In the 11-day tournament, Bangladesh won all six of their matches. The tournament started with a 9-1 victory over Sri Lanka. In the second match, Nepal lost to Bangladesh. The hosts then went on to beat Bhutan twice and won their second match against Sri Lanka 5-0.
