Bangladesh has strongly condemned reports of a drone attack targeting the holy city of Makkah Al-Mukarramah. The condemnation was conveyed in a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday (September 16). The statement said Bangladesh holds deep respect for the sanctity of Makkah Al-Mukarramah and other holy sites in Saudi Arabia. Bangladesh also expressed solidarity with the government and people of Saudi Arabia in protecting these sacred places. Bangladesh stressed that the security and safety of all holy sites must be fully respected and ensured at all times.

‘পবিত্র’ নগরী মক্কা আল-মুকাররমাকে লক্ষ্য করে ড্রোন হামলার খবরের ঘটনায় তীব্র নিন্দা জানিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ। বুধবার (১৬ সেপ্টেম্বর) পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ নিন্দা জানানো হয়। বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়েছে, পবিত্র মক্কা আল-মুকাররমা এবং সৌদি আরবের অন্যান্য পবিত্র স্থানগুলোর মর্যাদার প্রতি বাংলাদেশের গভীর শ্রদ্ধা রয়েছে। এসব পবিত্র স্থান সুরক্ষায় সৌদি আরবের সরকার ও জনগণের প্রতি সংহতি প্রকাশ করেছে বাংলাদেশ। বাংলাদেশ জোর দিয়ে বলেছে, পবিত্র স্থানগুলোর নিরাপত্তা ও সুরক্ষা সব সময় পূর্ণাঙ্গভাবে সম্মান ও নিশ্চিত করতে হবে।
