Bangladesh crush China 6-0 to win U-20 Junior Asia Cup unbeaten
Bangladesh women sealed the Under-20 Junior Asia Cup hockey title in emphatic fashion on Wednesday (September 9), thrashing hosts China 6-0 in Moki to complete an unbeaten campaign.
Captain Sharika Rimon opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a penalty-corner strike before Irene Akter Riya doubled Bangladesh’s lead with a field goal 10 minutes later.
Kona Akter added a third four minutes before half-time, leaving China with a mountain to climb.
Bangladesh continued to dominate after the break, with Mossammat Lima making it 4-0 in the 31st minute. Irene then scored her second two minutes later before Lima completed her brace in the 48th minute.
The victory was Bangladesh’s fourth straight win on Chinese soil and secured the title without a defeat in the Challengers Group.
Bangladesh will next face Japan in their final fixture.
