The Bangladesh mission in Riyadh has urged Bangladeshi nationals living in Saudi Arabia to remain vigilant amid the ongoing situation in the Middle East and strictly follow instructions issued by Saudi authorities.

In an emergency notice published on its verified Facebook page on Monday (October 12), the mission warned that recording, sharing or publishing information, photographs or videos related to the current situation on social media could constitute a punishable offence under Saudi law.

Urging Bangladeshis to respect Saudi laws, the mission advised them to refrain entirely from posting, storing on mobile phones or sharing images, videos and related information about the situation in the Middle East on platforms including Facebook, YouTube and X. It also advised them to avoid high-risk and crowded areas.

The notice provided the following contact numbers for assistance: the labour wing’s toll-free number, 8001000125; the passport wing’s toll-free number, 8001000126; and the diplomatic wing’s number, 8001000124.

The mission also urged Bangladeshi nationals in Saudi Arabia to follow its verified Facebook page for regular updates and further instructions.
