Bangladesh take on Pakistan today in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup. The clash can effectively be called a ‘semi-final’, as the winner will directly advance to the final. The match at the Dubai International Stadium will start at 8:30pm Bangladesh time on Thursday, September 25.

India have already secured their place in the final. The winner of today’s match will face India for the trophy.

In their last five T20 encounters, Pakistan have won three and Bangladesh two. Most recently, Liton Das’s side defeated Pakistan in a T20 series.

After losing to India by 41 runs, the Tigers may make some changes to their line-up for this unofficial ‘semi-final’. Captain Liton Das is likely to return from injury, while Sheikh Mahedi Hasan and Taskin Ahmed may also be recalled.

Pakistan, too, are eyeing a spot in the final. At the pre-match press conference, Shaheen Shah Afridi said they are determined to give their best. “Bangladesh are a good side. They have been playing well in recent times. To play against them, we must perform well in all departments. Our full attention is now on the match against Bangladesh,” he said.
