Bangladesh football team returns home safely from Nepal
The Bangladesh national football team, stranded in Nepal due to political unrest, has safely returned home on a special Bangladesh Air Force flight on Thursday (September 11).
The team, along with coaching staff and media personnel covering the Bangladesh-Nepal friendly series, departed Kathmandu at 2:30pm (local time) and landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the afternoon.
Bangladesh had traveled to Kathmandu for a two-match friendly series against Nepal.
However, student protests in Nepal from September 8 disrupted the schedule, leading to the cancellation of the second match and the closure of all flights from September 9 until Wednesday evening.
During this period, players, including captain Jamal Bhuiyan and forward Rakib Hossain, were confined to their hotel for two days.
