Bangladesh, France discusses FTA with EU to boost bilateral trade
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam met with Benoît Guidée, Director for Asia and Oceania at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday morning, April 27.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing mutually beneficial partnerships. They discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, supply chains, energy, space, defence, development cooperation, culture, education and skills development, migration, people-to-people exchanges, and peace and security.
The state minister and the French director also discussed enhancing political cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral contexts. Both sides emphasised the importance of a free trade agreement (FTA) with the European Union to boost bilateral trade. They also exchanged views on regional and global issues, stressing the importance of peace, stability and enhanced international cooperation.
