Bangladesh hoping for lead despite Williamson's ton

Bangladesh started the second day of the Sylhet Test against New Zealand with 310 runs for 9 wickets on Wednesday morning. However, the Tigers could not add any runs to the scoreboard on the second day. Bangladesh's innings ended at 310 runs with the dismissal of Shariful Islam on the first ball of the day. However, Bangladesh had an excellent day with the ball.

Bangladesh bowlers picked up the wickets of 8 Kiwi batters for 266 runs on the second day. The visitors are still 44 runs behind Bangladesh in the first innings, with only two wickets in hand.

Kane Williamson played a great innings of 104 runs off 205 balls with 11 fours. He has now 29 Test hundreds like Sir Don Bradman and Virat Kohli.

Glenn Phillips was the second-highest scorer of New Zealand with 42 runs. Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham, and Henry Nicholls made 42, 21 and 19 runs respectively.

For Bangladesh, left-arm off-spinner Taijul Islam captured 4 wickets while Shariful Islam, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nayeem Hasan and Muminul Haque took one wicket each.

The second and final Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand will start on December 6 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
