Bangladesh Jamaat more uneasy since I became CM: Suvendu Adhikari
Suvendu Adhikari has once again issued strong remarks regarding border security and illegal infiltration in India’s West Bengal after assuming office as chief minister.
Speaking at thanksgiving events held in Bhabanipur and Camac Street in Kolkata, the newly elected chief minister warned about deporting infiltrators and maintaining law and order in the state on Monday evening.
The events were organized to thank voters after Suvendu Adhikari defeated Mamata Banerjee by more than 15,000 votes in the recently concluded West Bengal Assembly election in her own Bhabanipur constituency.
Addressing supporters, Suvendu Adhikari said his government would secure the border, identify non-Indian nationals, and send infiltrators back to Bangladesh through the same route they allegedly used to enter India.
He claimed that since becoming chief minister, “discomfort” among Bangladesh’s Jamaat supporters had increased more than among West Bengal’s ruling and opposition political parties, including the Trinamool Congress, CPI(M), and Congress.
Describing himself as a “brother” of ordinary people, Suvendu Adhikari said he was not someone who would bow down in fear and asserted that the BJP government would fulfill all of its promises.
According to the chief minister, protecting the state and the country remains his government’s top priority. He also claimed that the names of infiltrators had already been removed from voter lists and that the time had come for their deportation.
Earlier, following his first cabinet meeting, Suvendu Adhikari had announced that land required for fencing along the border would be handed over to the Border Security Force within 45 days.
Apart from border security, the chief minister also delivered a stern warning regarding the law and order situation in the state.
