Despite a strong start, Bangladesh failed to maintain momentum, ending their Asian Cup qualifying campaign with a loss to Singapore. Javier Cabrera's side conceded a single goal.

The hosts took the lead in the 31st minute of the match played on Tuesday evening, March 31. A swift counter-attack from midfield saw goalkeeper Mitul Marma block a powerful shot from Kweh, but he could not control the rebound. Ikhsan Fandi collected the loose ball and set up Hariss Stewart, who sent a precise shot into the net.

In the early stages, particularly the first 15 minutes, Bangladesh played attacking football but failed to convert chances. A header from Samit Saha came close but did not result in a goal.

Coach Cabrera made several changes in the second half in search of an equaliser. Shahriar Emon was brought on in the 61st minute, followed by Biswanath Ghosh and Mirajul Islam, but the attack failed to gain momentum.

A free-kick taken by Samit Saha in the 79th minute was one of Bangladesh's best opportunities, but it was easily saved by the Singapore goalkeeper. Bangladesh ultimately could not find the net.

The solitary goal from the first half decided the match.

Bangladesh concluded their Asian Cup qualifying campaign with one win, two draws and three losses from six matches, earning a total of five points. The match against Singapore was largely a formality.
