Bangladesh opts to field against India in Super Four clash
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field against India in their second Super Four encounter at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
With regular captain Litton Das sidelined due to an injury sustained during practice, wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali has been handed the responsibility to lead the side in this crucial fixture.
The Tigers entered the contest with two points from their thrilling win over Sri Lanka at the same venue. However, they currently sit third in the Super Four standings, trailing India and Pakistan on net run rate. A victory today would significantly boost Bangladesh’s chances of reaching the final.
Bangladesh XI: Saif Hassan, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Parvez Hossain Emon, Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Jaker Ali (c & wk), Mohammad Saifuddin, Rishad Hossain, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman.
India XI: Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav (c), Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson (wk), Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy.
