Bangladesh has reached the semi-finals of the SAFF women's Championship in Kathmandu, Nepal. Bangladesh beat India 3-1 in the second match of Group A. Bangladesh is the group champion with four points in two matches and India is the runner-up with three points. Pakistan exited the tournament with one point. Bangladesh needed a draw in the match on Wednesday (October 23) to play the semi-finals. Sabina came to the field with such an equation and sealed the victory with a 3-1 score. Bangladesh performed well in the entire match. Bangladesh scored three goals against India. Two of the three goals were by Tahura Khatun, another by Afida Khandkar. Captain Bala Devi scored India's goal. All four goals of the match were scored in the first half.

শক্তিশালী ভারতকে হারিয়ে সাফ নারী চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপের সেমিফাইনালে উঠেছে বাংলাদেশ। বুধবার (২৩ অক্টোবর)&nbsp;নেপালের কাঠমান্ডুতে অনুষ্ঠিত ‘এ’ গ্রুপের দ্বিতীয় ম্যাচে তাদের বিপক্ষে ৩-১ গোলে জিতে বাংলাদেশের নারীরা। যদিও এই ম্যাচে বাংলাদেশের প্রয়োজন ছিল ড্র। ম্যাচের ১৮তম মিনিটে আফিদা খন্দকারের চাতুর্যপূর্ণ শটে গোল পেয়ে লিড নেয় বাংলাদেশ। এরপর ২৯তম মিনিটে বাম প্রান্ত থেকে আসা বল তহুরা খাতুনের গায়ে লেগে প্রতিপক্ষের জালে জড়ায়। এই গোলে ২-০ ব্যবধানে এগিয়ে যায় বাংলাদেশ। তবে সেই তহুরাই ৪২তম মিনিটে বল পেয়ে ব্যবধান ৩-০ করে দেন। অবশ্য পরের মিনিটে এক গোল পরিশোধ করে বিরতিতে যায় ভারত। বিরতির পর গোল করার কয়েকটি সুযোগ পায় ভারত। প্রতিবারই ঠেকিয়ে দেন গোলরক্ষক রুপ্না চাকমা। রুপ্নার পারফরম্যান্সে ভারত দ্বিতীয়ার্ধে আর কোনো গোল না পেলে জয় নিয়ে মাঠ ছাড়ে বাংলাদেশ। আগামী ২৭ অক্টোবর অনুষ্ঠিত হবে সেমিফাইনাল ম্যাচ। সেই ম্যাচে বাংলাদেশ খেলবে গ্রুপ ‘বি’ এর রানার্স আপের সঙ্গে।
