A 23-member Bangladesh squad has been announced for two friendly matches against Nepal on September 6 and September 9. As expected, star players Shamit Shome and Hamza Chowdhury are absent from the squad. Shamit had earlier stated that he would be unavailable, while Hamza’s inclusion was uncertain due to injury.

Other notable absentees include expatriate footballer Fahmidul Islam, who is occupied with age-group teams. Goalkeepers Mehedi Hasan Shrabon, Sheikh Morsalin, Al Amin, and Zahid Shanto were also left out due to performance issues. New additions to the squad are Sujon Hossain, Papon Singh, Isa Faisal, and Mohammad Ibrahim.

Abahani player Shakil Ahad Topu was left out due to injury, allowing Fortis FC centre-back Abdullah Omar Sajib to receive his first national call-up. Both friendly matches will be held in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.
