The Women’s T20 World Cup is kicking off today in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, with Bangladesh playing their opening match against Scotland.

The tournament, originally set to take place in Bangladesh, has been moved to the UAE due to security concerns. The matches will be held in two cities - Dubai and Sharjah, from October 3 to 20.

In the opening match, Bangladesh will face Scotland at 4:00 PM Bangladesh time. Bangladesh has a strong record against Scotland in shorter formats, winning all four previous encounters. However, they haven’t won a match in the T20 World Cup in the past 10 years. The team is determined to break this losing streak and start fresh in the current season.

This edition of the tournament will feature 10 teams, divided into two groups. Group A consists of Australia (the defending champions), India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, while Group B includes Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies, and Scotland.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-final.
