Bangladesh team now in Indonesia to play ASEAN Cup
The Bangladesh team is now in Indonesia on its ASEAN Cup mission. The red-and-green representatives arrived in the country's capital, Jakarta, on Sunday morning. The Bangladesh team reached Jakarta on a Singapore Airlines flight after a transit of about three hours in Singapore.
The FIFA ASEAN Cup will begin on September 25. Bangladesh had planned to reach Indonesia five days before the start of the tournament. The team went to the country early to allow the players to rest after the long journey and to adapt to the local weather, time and environment.
After reaching Jakarta, the players will rest a bit today. Training will then begin at 7pm. After September 22, Bangladesh will get the opportunity to use the designated training ground arranged by FIFA. Before that, a training ground has been arranged under BFF management. As a result, there is no fear of disruption in preparations immediately after arriving in Indonesia.
However, even after reaching Jakarta, coach Thomas Duli is not getting a full-strength team. Hamza Choudhury, Shamit Som and Farhan Ali Ohed did not arrive on the same flight as the team. According to Bangladesh time, they will leave for Indonesia today. They are scheduled to join the team on September 21.
Only after these three players join will Duli have a full 23-member squad for the upcoming tournament.
Bangladesh will face Malaysia in their first match of the ASEAN Cup on September 25. After that, Hamza Choudhury's team will play Singapore on September 28 and hosts Indonesia on October 1.
Ahead of the important matches of the tournament, Bangladesh will want to make the most of the opportunity to train and adapt to the environment in Jakarta for a few days.
