Bangladesh thrash India to defend U19 Asia Cup title

Bangladesh national under-19 cricket team successfully defended their title by thrashing India by 59 runs in the final of the ACC U19 Men’s Asia Cup in Dubai on Sunday.

Chasing a target of 199 runs, India was bowled out for 139 in 35.2 overs. Captain Mohamed Amaan (26), Hardik Raj (24), KP Karthikeya (21), and C Andre Siddarth (20) were the only Indian batters to make significant contributions. The rest of the Indian lineup struggled, with six players failing to reach double figures.

For Bangladesh, Iqbal Hossain Emon and Azizul Hakim each took three wickets to lead their team to victory.

Earlier, batting first after losing the toss, Bangladesh was all out for 198 in 49.1 overs. Opener Jawad Abrar scored 20 runs, while captain Azizul Hakim Tamim contributed 16 runs. Mohammad Shihab James made 40 runs, and Rizan Hosain top-scored with 47 runs. Wicketkeeper Farid Hasan added 37 runs.
