Bangladesh's final group-stage match of the FIFA ASEAN Cup also turned out like a nightmare. After conceding six goals in the first half, Indonesia found the net three more times in the second half. In the end, Hamza Choudhury's team finished the tournament with a heavy 9-2 defeat.

Hosts Indonesia played attacking football from the start of the match at Jakarta's Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. They took the lead through Mitchell Baker's goal in the 11th minute. Baker scored his second goal in the 20th minute to make it 2-0. In the 31st minute, Rizky Ridho's goal made the scoreline 3-0.

In the 36th minute, Shahriar Emon pulled one back for Bangladesh. He headed the ball into the net from Suki Itofusa's cutback. This was Bangladesh's first goal in the ASEAN Cup. However, Bangladesh could not stay comfortable for long after the goal. Just a minute later, Baker completed his hat-trick. He scored his fourth goal in the 42nd minute. In added time, Justin Hubner's header saw Indonesia go into the break leading 6-1.

Bangladesh made three changes at the break. Suki Itofusa and Shahriar Emon were taken off, and Farhan Ali and Minhajul Karim were brought on. Sohel Rana also came on in place of Shamit Som, who was forced off the field in the first half due to injury.

At the start of the second half, Bangladesh managed to hold off Indonesia's attacks for some time. In the 84th minute, Ramoni's goal was disallowed for offside. In the 89th minute, Farhan Ali wasted an opportunity. However, in the first minute of added time, Farhan scored Bangladesh's second goal with a brilliant finish from Rakib Hossain's cross.

But even that did not change the picture of the match. Luke Bikari scored Indonesia's first goal of the second half. Then Kevin Diks and Lee Baker scored two more goals in the sixth and seventh minutes of added time, confirming the hosts' 9-2 victory.

Tension also spread between the players of the two teams towards the end of the match. After the final whistle, Bangladesh captain Hamza Choudhury was seen leaving the field in an agitated state. At that time, members of the coaching staff tried to calm him down.

Earlier in the group stage, Bangladesh lost 3-0 to Malaysia and 1-0 to Singapore. With the heavy defeat to Indonesia in the final match, Hamza Choudhury's team ended the ASEAN Cup group stage without any points.
