Bangladesh thump Ireland by 217 runs to seal series 2-0
Bangladesh completed a dominant 2-0 series sweep over Ireland, securing a 217-run victory in the second Test.
Following their innings-win in Sylhet, the Tigers controlled the match from start to finish.
Bangladesh posted 476 in the first innings, with centuries from Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das. Ireland were bowled out for 265, Taijul Islam taking four wickets.
In the second innings, Bangladesh declared at 297 for 4, led by contributions from Mominul Haque (87), Shadman Islam (78), Joy (60), and an unbeaten 53 from Mushfiqur Rahim.
Chasing a huge 509-run target, Ireland resumed day five at 176 for 6. Curtis Campher was the lone resistance, remaining unbeaten on 71 off 259 balls.
However, Bangladesh’s bowlers, led by Taijul Islam and Hasan Murad with four wickets each, wrapped up Ireland for 291 in 113.3 overs before tea.
