Bangladesh to take on Sri Lanka in series-deciding 3rd T20 today

Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka today in the third and final match of the T20 series with the aim of winning the series. The match will start at 7:30pm Bangladesh time at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

After losing the first match by 7 wickets, Bangladesh bounced back in the second match. The Tigers leveled the series with an 83-run victory, which is their biggest win against Sri Lanka in T20s in terms of runs.

If Bangladesh wins today’s third and final match, it will be their first-ever T20 series victory against Sri Lanka.

Until now, Bangladesh has never won a T20 series against Sri Lanka. The two teams have contested five bilateral T20 series previously, with the Tigers’ best result being a two-match series draw in Sri Lanka in 2017. Overall, the teams have faced each other 19 times in T20s, with Bangladesh winning 7 matches and losing 12.

Today’s match will mark the end of Bangladesh’s long tour against Sri Lanka. At the beginning of the tour, Bangladesh lost the two-match Test series 1-0 and the three-match ODI series 2-1. Now, Bangladesh has the opportunity to win the T20 series by taking the final match.
