Bangladesh to tour Nepal without Hamza, Shamit
The Bangladesh national football team is set to play two friendly matches against Nepal on September 6 and 9 in the capital city of Kathmandu. However, the squad will be missing two of its most talked-about midfielders—Hamza Choudhury and Shamit Shome.
These two players, who have been at the center of fan attention, will not be available for the national team during the September FIFA window. National Team Committee member Saeed Hasan Kanan confirmed that Hamza will be engaged in pre-season training with his English club Leicester City, while Shamit will be busy with club competitions in Canada, making him unavailable for national duty.
Additionally, Fahmidul Ahmed, another recently called-up player, will also miss the tour. As a result, there will be no expatriate footballers in the Bangladesh squad for the matches against Nepal.
The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) considers these two friendlies as key preparation ahead of the crucial AFC Asian Cup qualifier match against Hong Kong in October.
