Bangladesh under-23 sweeps series with dominant win over Malaysia

On the same day the senior national team secured a historic Test victory on Australian soil, the Bangladesh Under-23 team clinched a resounding series sweep by defeating Malaysia by 237 runs in the third and final one-day match at the Bashundhara Sports Complex in Dhaka, sealing the three-match series 3-0.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Bangladesh posted a mammoth total of 369 for 7. Adil Bin Siddik anchored the innings with a brilliant, explosive century, smashing 135 runs off 111 balls laced with numerous boundaries and sixes. Opener Jawad Abrar chipped in with a brisk 53 off just 32 balls, while Khalid Hasan contributed a solid 73 runs.

Facing a daunting target of 370, Malaysia’s chase collapsed right from the start. Losing a wicket on the very first delivery, the visitors never recovered and were eventually bundled out for a meager 132 runs.

Spinners Rafiuzzaman Rafi and Sheikh Parvez Jibon spearheaded the Bangladeshi bowling attack, claiming three wickets each. Pacer Rahin Ahmed struck early blows, picking up 2 wickets to shatter Malaysia's top order.

With this comprehensive victory, the Bangladesh U-23 side completed a clean sweep over Malaysia in the three-match series.
