Bangladesh will not travel to India for World Cup
Bangladesh has decided not to take part in the ICC T20 World Cup. The decision was announced on Thursday following a meeting with the players, during a press conference by Sports Adviser Asif Nazrul. He also expressed hope that the International Cricket Council, ICC, would act with fairness.
Asif Nazrul said the government has taken a firm decision not to send the team to India for the World Cup and will not move away from this position. He stated that the security concerns which led to the decision remain unchanged.
He added that the government is unwilling to take any risk regarding player safety and that Bangladesh’s position has been clearly communicated to the ICC.
