The Bangladesh women’s football team has recorded a historic climb of 24 spots in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings to reach 104th position—its highest placement to date.

Released on Thursday (August 7), the updated rankings show Bangladesh making the most significant improvement among all nations, leaping from its previous position at 128. No other team in this edition of the rankings made a jump as large, highlighting the Tigers’ growing presence on the international stage.

On the global front, Spain—runners-up in this year’s UEFA Women’s Euro—has claimed the top spot, moving up one place. The United States, which previously held the number one position, has slipped to second.

Sweden has climbed to third, followed by Euro champions England in fourth. Germany, meanwhile, has fallen two spots to fifth. Brazil, despite winning the Women's Cup, dropped three places and now sits seventh.
