Bangladesh women storm up ICC T20 rankings with back-to-back wins
Bangladesh’s women’s cricket team has made waves in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers, storming through the group stage with wins over the USA, Papua New Guinea, Namibia, and Ireland.
Opener Sharmin Akter Supta was the star with 156 runs in four innings, climbing 22 spots to 35th in the batting rankings. Sobhana Mostari rose 11 places to 52nd, while spinners Rabeya Khan and Fahima Khatun also climbed the charts, finishing 14th and 30th in bowling rankings respectively.
Though Bangladesh holds 10th place overall, just behind Ireland with only a 4-point gap, the team’s unbeaten streak has ignited fresh excitement among cricket fans nationwide.
Bangladesh looks set to carry this momentum forward as the qualifiers progress, signaling a rising force in women’s cricket.
