Bangladesh women's hockey team secure third straight win in Junior Asia Cup
Bangladesh's Under-21 women's hockey team continued their impressive run in the Junior Asia Cup with a third consecutive victory, defeating Kazakhstan 4-0 on Tuesday, September 8.
The win follows earlier victories over Chinese Taipei and Pakistan .
Sharika Rimon scored twice from penalty corners for Bangladesh, once in the 3rd minute and another in the 51st minute . Liza Akter added a field goal in the 14th minute, while Zakia Afroze Lima scored another field goal in the 46th minute to complete the victory .
With this win, Bangladesh confirmed their place among the top six teams in the 10-nation tournament and secured the group championship with one match still in hand.
The team dominated from the start, with a solid defence that gave Kazakhstan virtually no opportunity throughout the match . Bangladesh will face Hong Kong in their final group-stage match on Wednesday.
