Interest in Bangladesh’s historic Test series in Australia has surged after their stunning victory in Darwin, with tickets for the first day of the second Test in Mackay already sold out.

Cricket Australia confirmed that tickets for the opening day of the second Test have been officially sold out, while urging fans to secure tickets for the remaining days as soon as possible. The governing body said sales have been moving faster than expected.

The strong demand follows Bangladesh’s emphatic performance in the series opener at Darwin’s Marrara Stadium, where the visitors secured their first-ever Test victory on Australian soil.

Bangladesh bowled Australia out for 198 and 284 in their two innings, while the visitors posted 426 in their first innings to take a commanding 228-run lead. Chasing just 57 for victory, Najmul Hossain Shanto’s side reached the target for the loss of one wicket to seal a nine-wicket win.

The result has generated strong interest among both the Bangladeshi diaspora and Australian spectators ahead of the second and final Test.

The match will begin in Mackay on August 22, with Bangladesh leading the two-match series 1-0. A victory would give the visitors a historic series triumph, while Australia will be looking to bounce back on home soil and level the series.
