Bangladeshi and Pakistani Foreign Ministers meet in Philippines
Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Dr. Khalilur Rahman met with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
During the meeting held, the two leaders reviewed the ongoing progress of Bangladesh-Pakistan relations and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further expanding bilateral cooperation on Wednesday (July 22).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh stated that the two foreign ministers held a courtesy meeting and exchanged greetings. Meanwhile, Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that discussions focused on positive developments in bilateral relations since Ishaq Dar's visit to Dhaka in 2025. Both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthening trade, connectivity, and mutual cooperation.
The ministers welcomed the growing engagement between Bangladesh and Pakistan, specifically highlighting increased people-to-people contacts and the initiation of direct flights between the two countries this year as positive milestones.
Humayun Kabir, Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister, was also present during the meeting.
