Bangladeshi star Joya Ahsan bags best actress in India

Popular actress Joya Ahsan has received a prestigious accolade in India, winning the Best Actress (Critics) award for her performance in “Putulnacher Itikatha”, directed by Suman Mukhopadhyay.

The award was presented at the “Binodoner Sera 24” ceremony, organised by Kolkata-based television channel Zee 24 Ghanta.

Adapted from Manik Bandopadhyay’s acclaimed novel, the film showcases Joya’s sensitive and subtle portrayal of a strong rural woman, earning praise from both audiences and critics.

Joya shared the news on her verified Facebook page, expressing gratitude and calling the film one of the most special works of her acting career.

Actor Abir Chatterjee also played a key role in the film.

Critics noted that the award adds another highlight to Joya Ahsan’s versatile acting journey while sending a positive signal for Bangladeshi cinema. The film is also slated for release in Bangladesh, where audiences eagerly await her celebrated performance on the big screen.
