A Bangladeshi youth was killed during a Pakistani military operation targeting terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The operation took place late Friday night (September 26) near Shah Selim Police Station in Darshakhel, Karak district, where Pakistani forces killed 17 militants.

Pakistani media outlet Samaa TV reported on Sunday that one of those killed was a Bangladeshi, whose identity has been confirmed by authorities. Bangladeshi identification documents, cash, and personal belongings recovered from him verified his nationality.

The incident has drawn attention to the presence of foreigners in the region near the Afghan border. Local officials said that in previous anti-terrorism operations, two to three other Bangladeshis were also killed. They had reportedly entered Afghanistan under the pretext of religious education and later joined militant groups.

The Pakistani military confirmed on Saturday that 17 members of the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in the raid. Intelligence sources indicated that members of the Mullah Nazir group were operating in the remote area. A joint operation was carried out by the Pakistan Army, the Special Services Group (SSG), and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

The two-day operation involved surrounding the militants in hilly terrain. By its conclusion, 17 militants were killed and 10 others injured. Three security personnel also sustained injuries during the operation.
