Bangladesh's improvement in T20 rankings

Bangladesh has moved up one step to eighth place in the latest T20 rankings of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The Tigers have achieved this improvement after the annual update.

According to the ranking, India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, has retained the top spot with 275 points after winning the T20 World Cup this year. England is in second place (262 points) and Australia is in third place (258 points).

In the ICC's annual update, matches played since May 2025 have been given 100 percent weight and matches played in the previous two years have been given 50 percent weight.

There has been no change in the position of the top seven teams. New Zealand is in fourth place with 247 points, South Africa is in fifth place (244), Pakistan is in sixth place (240) and West Indies is in seventh place (233 points).

Sri Lanka has dropped to ninth place after losing 6 points. Bangladesh has moved up to eighth place with 225 points. Bangladesh's points have increased by 1 in this update.

Afghanistan is in 10th place (220 points). Zimbabwe and Ireland remain unchanged in 11th and 12th places respectively.

Meanwhile, the United States has moved up two places by gaining 6 points to 13th place. They have overtaken the Netherlands and Scotland, who are now in 14th and 15th place respectively.
