Bangladesh's Sabrina teams up with India's Subhamita
Bangladeshi poet and lyricist Dr. Sabrina Rubin has teamed up with celebrated Indian singer Shubhomita Banerjee for her new track “Ekhanei Sob Kotha Sesh Hok.”
Arranged by Deb Gautam, the song is set to release soon across major Indian music platforms, creating buzz in both Bangladesh and India.
Dr. Sabrina Rubin—widely known for her work in literature, music, and humanitarian initiatives—has earned international recognition in Russia, the US, India, and other countries. She writes in both Bangla and English, with acclaimed titles like "Limitless Love", "Sudden Spring Again", "Nishiddho Nirbashon", and "Bihungi".
Her lyrics have been used in Malayalam and Tamil films, and sung by noted artists including Haimanti Sukla, Usha Uthup, Shuvro Dev, and Shan Shaikh. She has received numerous global honours including 'Yasser Arafat World Peace Award,' 'Chekhov Bronze Honour,' and 'Gujarat Sahitya Akademy-Motivational Strips Honour.' She also serves on the policy board of the Munir Mezyed Foundation for Arts & Culture, an international organisation.
Indian vocalist Subhamita Banerjee, a prominent name in modern Bangla music and ghazals for over three decades, has released more than a dozen albums and lent her voice to over 200 television and film songs. Her classical prowess earned her prestigious recognitions such as the ITC SRA Scholarship, India’s National Scholarship, and top awards in major music contests.
The collaboration marks a significant cultural exchange between the two Bengals and has already sparked widespread anticipation.
