Bangladesh's Samanzar Sayeed ready to shine at 73th Miss World

Miss World Bangladesh 2026 Samanzar Sayeed is set to leave for Vietnam on Saturday (August 8) to represent the country at the 73th Miss World pageant, marking a major milestone in her journey from first-time contestant to the country's global ambassador.

Ahead of her departure, Samanzar said representing Bangladesh on one of the world's biggest beauty platforms is both an honour and a responsibility. She expressed confidence in showcasing her skills, personality and the country's culture on the international stage.

Born and raised in Dhaka, Samanzar graduated in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from North South University. She said she entered the Miss World Bangladesh competition out of curiosity after completing her studies and was overwhelmed when she emerged as the winner.

According to Samanzar, Miss World is far more than a beauty contest, placing equal emphasis on personality, intelligence, confidence and social responsibility. Since winning the national title, she has undergone intensive grooming in personality development and international presentation to prepare for the global competition.

Beyond academics, Samanzar has a strong background in the performing arts. She trained in Kathak and Bharatanatyam for four years and enjoys singing, dancing and sports, including basketball and table tennis. She also revealed an interest in pursuing acting in the future if offered meaningful stories and challenging roles.

Samanzar was crowned Miss World Bangladesh 2026 on July 11, with Swagata Saha finishing as the first runner-up and Labiba Manzur as the second runner-up.

The 73th Miss World pageant will begin in Hanoi, while the grand finale is scheduled to take place on September 5 in Ho Chi Minh City, where contestants from around the world will compete for the coveted crown.
