Bank of America vice president killed in stabbing at Times Square

Bank of America Vice President Erin Piacenti, 32, has been killed in a stabbing at Times Square in New York. A 68-year-old person has been seriously injured in this incident and is under treatment in hospital.

Erin had recently returned to work after maternity leave. She was serving as Vice President of the Business Selection and Conflicts Unit of Bank of America. Bank of America and Fordham Law School have expressed grief over the death of Erin, who was a graduate of an Ivy League university and held a degree from Fordham Law School.

Four days before the incident, Erin had also expressed gratitude for spending a long leave by publishing photos with her husband and infant child on social media.

Police informed that the attacker is a woman named Pamela Cizinarios, 49. She first stabbed the elderly person and later Erin. Although police directed her for several minutes to throw the knife, she threatened to kill the officers.

Later police used a stun gun to bring her under control. After that when they opened fire, Pamela died at the spot.

Pamela’s brother Patrick Peralta informed that although his sister had been suffering from mental problems for a long time, she never behaved aggressively. They cannot understand for what reason she caused such an incident. He has expressed sympathy for the families of the victims.

It is to be noted that one person was also killed in a stabbing in the same area of Times Square under police security last May.
