Barcelona beat Athletic Club to reach Super Cup final

Barcelona advanced to the final of the 2024/25 Spanish Super Cup with a dominant 2-0 win over Athletic Club in the semifinals on Wednedsaday night in Jeddah.

The victory was sealed by goals from young stars Gavi and Lamine Yamal, who played pivotal roles in securing the win for the Catalan giants. Gavi opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a well-placed shot, while Yamal extended the lead early in the second half with a clinical finish.

The match saw Barcelona play without Dani Olmo, whose playing license was revoked prior to the game. Despite his temporary clearance before the match, Olmo was unable to feature, as well as Pau Victor, who was also unavailable. This did not affect Barcelona's performance, as they controlled the match with their characteristic passing and flair.
