Dominik Livakovic, a 31-year-old Croatian star goalkeeper, has been signed by Barcelona from Turkish club Fenerbahce on a four-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2030.

Confirming the transfer of Livakovic in a statement, Barcelona said they have reached an agreement with Fenerbahce regarding the player’s transfer. The duration of the contract with this Croatian goalkeeper signed for four seasons will continue until the last day of June 2030.

Barcelona has not officially disclosed the financial figure of the transfer. However, according to information of Spanish and European media, Barcelona will initially spend about 2 million euros for Livakovic. If various conditions in the contract are fulfilled and performance-based bonuses are added, this amount may increase by another 2 million euros. In that case the total value of the contract may stand at about 4 million euros.

With Livakovic joining Barcelona, his return to Spain’s top football competition La Liga is taking place again. Earlier he played on loan at Girona from Fenerbahce. This Croatian guarded the goalpost of Girona in the first half of the last season.

Livakovic has also been playing an important role for the Croatia national team for a long time. Especially his performance on big stages like the World Cup has drawn attention. It is believed that his experience under the goalpost and the skill of making saves in important moments have made Barcelona interested in taking him into the team.

After ending the Fenerbahce chapter, Livakovic is now facing a new challenge. After previous experience in La Liga, he is getting the opportunity to prove his ability in the jersey of one of Europe’s most successful clubs Barcelona this time. With the contract until 2030, this goalkeeper also has the opportunity to play an important role in the club’s long-term plans.
