Barcelona tie Egyptian forward Hamza Abdelkarim down until 2030

Barcelona have secured the long-term future of Egyptian forward Hamza Abdelkarim, extending his contract with the club until June 30, 2030.

The 19-year-old forward will formally sign the new deal with Barcelona president Joan Laporta at the club’s offices on September 15. He will then speak to reporters at the club’s commercial office, Barcelona said in a statement.

Abdelkarim rose rapidly through Barcelona’s youth ranks, attracting attention with a hat-trick in a 9-0 win over Montecarlo that helped the Under-19 side clinch the Division d’Honor title.

His performances earned him a permanent deal with Barcelona in the summer of 2026. He then impressed during the first team’s pre-season under head coach Hansi Flick, finishing as the club’s top scorer with four goals and earning a regular place in the squad’s plans.

Abdelkarim made his competitive first-team debut on August 31 against Rayo Vallecano at Spotify Camp Nou. His rapid rise from the academy to the senior side has now been rewarded with a contract that keeps him at the Catalan club through 2030.
