BCB announces 15-member squad for 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, leaving out middle-order batters Jaker Ali Anik and Mahidul Islam Ankon.


As expected, the selectors largely retained players who have been regular features in the T20 setup over the past two years, showing continuity and confidence in the existing core.


Liton Das will lead Bangladesh at the global showpiece, with Mohammad Saif Hassan named as his deputy.


At the top of the order, Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Saif Hassan are set to open the innings, while Parvez Hossain Emon and Towhid Hridoy are expected to anchor the middle order. Shamim Patwari and Nurul Hasan Sohan have been included to bolster the finishing role.


The pace attack will be spearheaded by Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed, supported by Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Shoriful Islam and Mohammad Saifuddin. The spin department features off-spinner Mahedi Hasan, left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed and leg-spinner Rishad Hossain.
