Australia are set to return to Bangladesh for a bilateral series after five years.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officially unveiling the full schedule and match timings for the much-anticipated tour.

According to the announced itinerary, the Australian team will arrive in Dhaka on June 5 for a series comprising three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

The visitors are expected to spend the first day resting before beginning official training sessions.

All three ODIs will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. The opening ODI is scheduled for June 9, while the remaining matches will take place on June 11 and June 14. All ODI matches are set to begin at 11:00am local time.

Following the ODI series, both teams will travel to Chattogram for the T20I leg of the tour. The three matches will be held at the Bir Shrestha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium on June 17, 19 and 21. Each T20I will start at 2:00pm (local time).

The BCB said the decision to hold all matches during daylight hours was taken primarily to conserve electricity amid the country’s current energy situation. A similar schedule was followed during Bangladesh’s recent home series against New Zealand, where ODIs began at 11:00am and T20Is at 2:00pm.

Australia will depart Bangladesh on June 22 following the conclusion of the tour.

Australia’s return has already generated significant excitement among cricket fans in Bangladesh, especially after the memorable 2021 T20I series between the two sides in Dhaka.
