Former women's cricket team manager and selector Manjurul Islam has been banned following sexual harassment allegations made by former women's cricket team captain Jahanara Alam.

The decision was taken at a virtual meeting of the BCB board of directors on Sunday (February 22), a source said.

Earlier, Australian-based Jahanara Alam had alleged sexual harassment against Manjurul in an interview. The BCB formed an investigation committee to investigate the allegations. Jahanara also made the same complaint to them in writing.

After receiving the report of the investigation committee, the BCB said in a press release on February 4 that the independent investigation committee had found preliminary evidence regarding the allegations against Manjurul. The committee reviewed four specific allegations made by Jahanara and found insufficient evidence to support two of the allegations, but found evidence of misconduct in the remaining two allegations, the BCB said.

Based on the recommendations of the investigation committee, it has been decided that Manjurul will not be involved in Bangladesh cricket in any way in the future. However, Manjurul, who currently works at the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), has not held any responsibility in the BCB since June 30 last year.
