BCB hands ‘Captains Card’ to former national team captains

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has introduced a ‘Captains Card’ for all national team captains, offering special privileges including free entry to international matches and access to medical insurance benefits.

The cards were formally handed over at a five-star hotel in Dhaka on Thursday (April 16) by BCB ad-hoc committee chairman Tamim Iqbal.

Under the initiative, current and former captains will be able to watch ICC, ACC and other international matches involving Bangladesh without purchasing tickets. In addition, retired captains will also receive medical insurance benefits similar to those of active national team players.

Both men’s and women’s team captains have been included in the programme.

Several former captains, including Aminul Islam Bulbul, Faruque Ahmed, Naimur Rahman Durjoy, Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Khaled Mashud Pilot were absent from the event but will also receive the benefits, according to the board.
