Three Bangladesh cricketers—Saif Hassan, Towhid Hridoy and Rishad Hossain—could face fines from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for allegedly breaching team discipline during the Asian Games.

The players reportedly travelled between cities without informing or obtaining permission from the team management during the Games, an action the BCB is treating as a disciplinary breach.

The issue came to the board’s attention after Bangladesh’s Asian Games campaign ended without the expected gold medal. The BCB has decided to take action against the three players, although no official announcement has been made.

According to sources, each player could be fined between Tk 100,000 and Tk 200,000 if the disciplinary action is imposed.

Bangladesh captain Litton Das, however, offered a different perspective on the players’ movements, saying the team’s food arrangements were sometimes unsuitable for consumption.

“When the food provided at the Asian Games is not fit to eat, we have to go outside to eat,” Litton said.

The BCB has yet to formally disclose the details of the alleged violations or confirm the amount of any fines.
